Saturday, October 16, 2004 After hearing the song "Learn Chinese" by Jin, I was totally angered! Some Chinese-Americans in his website forums commented that they were "proud to be Chinese after hearing this song". I say bullshit!
The Chinese spoken in this song is not Chinese, its Cantonese. Well, despite their similarities, Cantonese is NOT Chinese! Did you know that most Hong Kongers (where Cantonese is their main language) cannot speak a word of Chinese because of their accent? The mistake most Americans make is that when they hear Chinese, they think of Cantonese. Its like, so UNFAIR!!! When will discrimintation stop? ashleybspots aCKj
